I actually don't like killing animals. I would always get sadder when an animal died in a movie than if a person died.

I might try getting some squirrel traps and putting them up in the trees.

@xiaosecretability Yes, the husks can kill grass, and a lot of other plants as well. One of my neighbors has a black walnut tree in their yard like the one Shay has in this video, and my mom can't plant anything in the part of her garden that's near the tree, because the trees contain a compound called juglone, which is toxic to plants.

There are a lot of articles online about the toxicity of black walnut trees.
