An automatic nowadays will shift faster than a person driving a manual and will shift at the same rate every time making it in theory faster. But I will agree that manual driving much more interesting and adds a nice dynamic to driving. It depends on the driver and what they prefer. There's nothing wrong with manual and there's nothing wrong with automatic. It's just a matter of preference.

I've talked to some inside sources in Subaru and they have officially told me that the STI isn't even in development yet but should be coming out in 2 years time.

That is too much of a wait for me so after months of consideration I just ordered my BRZ last week. I'll be turning it into one hell of a "Performance Car" that even the STI model won't be able to touch. :)
