  • i remember being a kid and having my dad have all his buddies come over after work. All races just kicking it together, with me whooping everyone butt in checkers and sometimes chess. lol

  • Great time I am sure! For me, this whole album was special. 1974 was a great yeat for funk and r&b.

  • Third grade, my cousin playing pro football, recessed green lights in the basement at home, weekends at my grandmother's house, this song brings it all back. 1974

  • Great times, no doubt! For me, K&G takes me to when many of the people who was in my world were around and it just brings a smile on my face and a longing in my heart because they're not with me anymore. Family, friends, ways of being, styles, you know, the whole set.

  • wooohoo!!

  • WhaCha' doin' wit' that stuff!!

  • This track reminds me a lot of Tear the Roof off the Sucker, on P-Funk's Mothership Connection. The early Kool stuff was really good, its 100 times better than the later, more commercial stuff like Joanna and Celebration.

  • kool and the gang was among one of the first albums i ever owned. sadly-because of the way that radio was organized at the time hey didn't make any real money until they came out with "ladies night, too hot and celebrate"...don't let that happen to your muzic...support what you like with the money to back it up...i only like early kool and the gang..love the jazz balance that they used to maintain...but after "wild and peaceful" they said i need a dollar..lol..

  • FunkY!!

  • Man, thank God for YouTube, the music as well as the commentary. I'm feeling a like a lot of folks here, I always dug the early Kool jams like "Rhyme Time People" and "Who's Gonna Take the Weight" which seemed tight, bright, and exceptionally funky. Also like a lot of others here, I thought Kool & the Gang literally lost its groove when it pulled the plug on funk and morphed into more of a smooth jazz, top-40 format featuring comparatively weak cuts like "Joanna" and "Celebrate."

  • One of the earliest to come off this goddamn hard.......this and Funky Stuff changed the entire mutha' fuckin' game

  • before the shameless commercialism....

  • Its 1974 all over again in Bed-Stuy Brooklyn & WBLS 107.5 FM and its sister station WWRL 1600 am IS playing the REAL music- funk, soul, & gospel with the REAL deejays- Hank Spann, Frankie Crocker, Gary Bird, Jeff Troy, Jerry Bledsoe, Hal Jackson, Larmar Renee, Vy Higerson, Ken Spiderweb,G Keith Alexander indeed a golden era that will NEVER come again !!!

  • gansters of the groove!!!!!

  • I love it funkeeyyy

  • South Side Peoria Illinois "That's Right" Changes you go through!!!!(A.A.
