American Misconceptions about Drugs

Regarding jdwjeffrey's closing aside: if it takes a drug to inspire a musician, I say let them do it, why is there a need for value judgments on lifestyle choices such as this that have no effect on yourself whatsoever? If, say, you were comparing a musician in a drug induced creative state to an athlete on steroids, then what is that to say about the musician? Are we to interpret this comparison as an argument that drugs give musicians "unfair" advantages over other musicians that abstain?

Oh forgot to mention. Worked on a pot farm, don't smoke it. B.S. biology, minor chemistry. 2nd B.A. psychology, minor sociology. You should reconsider the authority of your sources. Not to mention the other reasons statements are made.

I've never heard so much ignorance from a seemingly intelligent person, in my entire life. I would love to see some of your supportive data to back up half of your statements. It would be a funny conversation to hear you talk to a professional. Why don't you call loveline talk to Dr. Drew? That would be an amusing conversation.

i slept through most of my dare sessions because if i tried to correct the idiot cop i would just get suspended and get my locker and backpack checked.

The hard line that people draw in America regarding drugs causes people that have just tried smoking pot to look at themselves as drug-people. Thus creating the concept of a gateway drug.
In a world where the general population consists of sensible, thinking human beings (and I'd like to believe that we live in such a world), drugs like weed, MDMA (ecstasy) and LSD should be legal and anyone should be free to try them and see whether they like the experience.
-
As a population, we are too hypersensitive of all the worst outcomes we can find. I think you should spend much more time on the solution rather than the problem and misconceptions. The solution is MOST important!
not related, but I hate artists who use drugs for inspiration. to me, it's like an athlete using steroids.
