Schumacher Riot tuning/performance

This is my first nitro rc car, so please be nice. I'm not sure if it's running to lean or too rich - the quality of the video is quite bad, but I'm wondering whether the speed and acceleration I'm getting is good or not. The only bit of tuning I've done is to turn the high-speed needle clockwise 1/8 turn and then the engine started to stall at full throttle. I don't think it's due to over-heating, because it takes about 8-9 seconds for my saliva to evaporate from the motor heatsink. Also, the second gear doesn't seem to be engaging (at least I can't hear any change in rpm), probably implying that the rpms aren't high enough. What's going wrong????

@chazminash unfortunately not :) i got mine from the schumacher website, though i used to visit both shops you mention regularly! how much did you pay for yours second hand?

u need ur idle needle lower and you hsn a little richer part from that great vid. also as said before let your engine warm up. and have you run it in? if u havent ur engines gonna be byebye.

@updablades i did run it in. apparently these engines are hard to tune. riot 2 is supposed to be easier.

Omg. You couldnt hear the second gear changing. It helps if there is two pinion and spur gears on it dont it u fukin rem!!!

@starsk8tr900 something like 30 pounds i think.

but i had to get the battery and charger for the drill separately, which was a bit annoying. if you're good at pull starting leave it as it is - lugging everything around if the car stalls far away is annoying. The drill is quite big.
