Cory - Dirt Off Your Shoulders (Jay-Z ft. Linkin Park) Drum Cover

This is a simple " drum cover" of one a collaborative song by Jay-Z and Linkin park. I don't know why I chose it other than I thought the beat was cool. Its actually more of a jam session (so please excuse all mistakes haha) as I don't really stay true to the original song. I know there are actually quite a few mistakes in this video, so I'll get around to putting up a "prefect version" soon, because I don't like to misrepresent myself with a low quality performance. SO please enjoy this, and take it for what it's worth. All opinions are welcomed.

I'm still messing around with the mic placement and recording set up since I don't have a firepod, sooo everything should be improving... soon.

what snare head are you using

@offthechizzarts I use a 14" Remo Emperor coated head, its pretty typical. To get the sound you like its all about tuning, especially the batter head. I dig any and all coated heads, my next set of heads is gonna be all coated, or at least with a coated ring.

@LilCDV Ya I recorded using a rather mediocre PA system, only 2 of the 5 mics were actualy instrument mics (SM-57's to be precise). I had 2 crappy vocal mics and one SM-58, a pretty decent vocal mic.
