  • is this running off a motor?

  • No, it's powered by the counterweight (the gears). As it falls it causes the gears to spin.

  • I had to rebuild the ticking mechanism several times to get it just right. I would have geared it down again but the plastic rods the gears were attached to were starting to twist due to the size of the counterweight.
