This is probably one of the FINEST remastering of an AMV I ever did so far. What's more, it is the remake from one of the OLDEST Evangelion AMV ever existed! Evangelion Final Countdown! I finally did it once I got better PC and better software.

Evangelion Final Countdown was made by Mirth Anime Studio/Rogue Studios/Dimension Video around 1998 (probably, earlier than ENGEL). It was a pretty awesome AMV, but it was a MPEG-1 file with a crappy 320x240 vid quality and only 15 fps. Later in 2003, someone from AMV(dot)ORG called "rei.andrea" remastered this AMV with higher quality footage, including Director's Cut footage. But it wasn't done properly since several syncs were off from the beat. Feeling unsatisfied with rei.andrea's remastered version, I decided to remaster it myself using an ENTIRELY Director's Cut footage! Although you'll find one scene from TV Series and DEATH...

I had to crop the vid into widescreen. That's because of my Director's Cut footage are ALL hard-subbed fansub! Even with that cropping, there are still a lot of leftover cropped subs.

The biggest change I ever made in my AMV is here. Before, I always used a wallpaper from Atelier Iris 3 in the beginning part. But now, I changed it forever using a screenshot from widescreen K-ON! It says "Don't say 'lazy' for AMV remastering". Wasn't that better?

It's great to see all the effort you put in and to read all the praise you had for this video!

It took many, many hours to build this. My original video was compiled from VHS source in 1996/1997, partly domestic dubs (good video quality) and partly fansubs (lower video quality, and I had to work around the hard subs for scene choices). I also had to play with video speed in a few places to make clips fit.

OK, like I said before, this video is actually a response for rei.andrea's remastered version of your AMV. Yeah, its visual quality was very good, but lacking the syncs from the original AMV. So, I had to remade it. And I believe my AMV's visual quality is a bit lower due to its footage (A2000A's fansub in 2 DVDs, and defects on the DVDs causes graphical screw-ups / video glitches like in EVA-01 scene going to shoot Leliel).

Additionally, this AMV is not HD yet. I finally got a better quality RENEWAL footage, but they're all packed in (probably) QuickTime MP4 files with H264 video - they're all unreadable in my editing program. And it's quite a pain to reconvert them all. I'm also going to put Rebuild footage (1.0 & 2.0) into the HD ver, but I will NEVER post it here, or YT's gonna kill me.

But, in Korea, my home country, this song was popular....according to one of my friends.

Holy shit, this was the AMV that kick-started my descent into Anime-country <3 Gotta love this, and kudos to you for remastering it! I remember I randomly downloaded this on a Lan-Party back in 1999 or something. I found it awesome, but accidentally deleted it from my PC, which I've been regretting for so long. So awesome of you to do this.
