  • Thanks for the video. I grew up in Albion as a child from 1955-1967. As you approached Shelton Memorial Hospital you drove past my house (208 East Oak St). The single story brick building at that t-section (where you turned right by the hospital) was the old dental clinic. I also played little league in Victory / Reiger Park, fished (almost daily) on the Kalimazoo River (along the waterfall below the bridge), skated on the the pond and kissed my first girlfriend in the warming shelter.

  • @MikeThai777 Thanks for watching the video, I grew up here and am still here Albion is going through some changes lately just as all small towns are. This video shows thw good side If I get time and the inclination I will make another short video one of these days showing the other side of things.

  • I was born and raised in Albion. My grandmother took my brother and I fishing in Reiger Park when I was little (caught bluegills with cane poles). Caught a carp in the skating pond when I was 12. It is sad how the Bohm had gone down hill. Took my girlfriend to movies at the drive in. I spent a week in Sheldon Memorial Hospital when I was 8. I remember the crackling fire in the skate house and feeling cozy and warm. A good place to grow up when I did but I am glad to be in Ca. now. WTruax

  • Yes the late 60's and early 70's was a good time to grow up in Albion . Things are showing their age these days, our old neighborhood isn't what it was back then either TZ

  • Band Shelter is looking good, it went through some low dark times 20 years ago.

Wish they'd revive the skaking log house - l Loved that place and skating on the pond more than anything growing up.

  • The band shell seems to have escaped the vandals with spray paint lately and it does look better than it has in many years There are regular performances there on Sundays (in the summer)

There is a group trying to raise money to turn the skating pond into a swimming pond but I haven't heard any news about that project lately The log cabin looking building certainly needs a roof . It is a cement block building with log siding on it , I think it was built in the 1950's
