Ok. So i was right about .223 vs 5.56, but wrong about .308 vs 7.62. Why are they backwards who knows.

Maybe im wrong though, not 100% sure.

I think you may have it backwards. A gun chambered for .308 WIN should only shoot .308 Win. But a gun chambered in 7.62x51 NATO can shoot either. 7.62x51 is a hotter charge than the civilian counterpart .308. Same goes for .223 or 5.56. A gun chambered for .223 should only shoot .223. But a gun chambered in 5.56 can shoot either. The 7.62 Nato can be up to twice as hot as .308. But most machine gun ball 7.62 nato will fire safely out of a gun chambered for .308. You bullet probably hit higher

he looks just like keenon. lol

@uziairsoft .308 is a 30-06 with a shortened case and same projectile. if you look at ft per sec on a factory box of ammo with the same projectile the performance is pretty much identical on both. however if you handload i believe you can have more variety with what you can do with a 30-06. probably cause 30-06 has more case capacity.

wich gun do you think is better....30-06 or .308

@coyotekiller740 Different rifles take different ammo differently. It's all individual.
what grain ammo would u suggest being the best for a .308? also what brand do u get the most accuracy out of in your opinion?

@coyotekiller740 I find the best accuracy is from the Remington core-lokts but I can not remember the grain it does depend on the distance you expect to shoot.
the more the powder, the more the recoil = less accuracy.
hunt hard, hunt safe, eat well.
