Hey I have a Question...When Braiding your own Hair.. Do you hafta Keep your hands close to your hair??...Cause my Hair is Straight and i Braid my own Hair like this...except im still learning how to Braid my own hair by watching Vids....all the way to the Bakc of my Head...I have No experience with Teachers... Im Self Taught...i've been braiding my own Hair Since I was 13 im 18 now...What are Good Elastics that hold hair longer??

Yes, if its corn-row, or anything that you want to be flattened on your head, then Yes. Walmart has rubber-bands for hair. I don't have a particular brand, but just make sure it matches your hair.

lol I practiced braiding with my dolls too. However, those were individuals, I couldn't cornrow even if my life depended on it.

this is still hard for me...I can french braid and plait all day but when it comes to cornrows something goes wrong...they're always loose and sloppy no matter how tight my grip is and how close my head is to my scalp. My arms get tired really fast and hurt so i give up.

do you have any particular tips for braiding from the side? i want to start from my ear side and go sideways to the top of my head (so that i'll end up with a mohawk like effect) any take on separation and where to start?

good job i might have to do it myself because i ask people and they dont come through and i am to cheap to get it done at the salon
