Alistair Cooke Introduces "ÐαyAƒtεr thεƒαir"

Alistair Cooke introduces us to "ÐαyAƒtεr thεƒαir", another fine episode of "Masterpiece Theater" which can be seen here at Steff's Stuff . Filmed in 1987 and based on the story "On the Western Circuit" by ThomasHardy, ÐαyAƒtεr thεƒαir stars HannahGørdøn, AnnaMassεy, MartynStanbridgε and SammiDavis in one of her earliest roles.

"On the Western Circuit" is probably the best known of ThomasHardy's 49 short stories. It has been produced on the London stage by Harold Pinter, and as we see here, wonderfully adapted for British television. Enjoy! ~♥~

@OldFashionedCharm I absolutely loved Cookie's intros ~ they were so informative! I didn't leave them on the actual movies, just in case some people didn't want to see Alistair's comments, but I always love the back stories and behind the scenes clips, don't you?

This is so interesting to me because I am reading Claire Tomlin's biography of Thomas Hardy. I really only knew about his major novels so seeing an adaptation of one of his short stories is very nice!
