Hey, newtojazz, thanks for posting this. If you are really new to jazz, then you are a pretty fast learner. Patricia Barber deserves about a thousand times more recognition. See her live if you can! Look to see when she kicks her shoes off, because she's a monster on the keys too, and when her shoes come off she really takes off on them. Her voice is so good it's really almost a red herring of fine distraction, keeping the attention away from her chops. Her band is supercool too!
