  • Dark master my guide......

  • This song is so awesome, best part definetely starts around 6:00 :D :D :D ! Gives me chills.

  • @DMCMaster550 Yep, I can definitely agree with that!

  • @cheetahfish I'm not saying the lyrics need to be an attempt at poetry but if they're to be written than the lyrics should at least be good. I'm not saying lyrics are required to enjoy music, I love Black Clouds because of the composition, but if I find a song with lyrics should at least have good lyrics, if not don't write them.

  • @DMCMaster550 Again, I'm in it for the music, not the attempt at poetry. You are right about ACoS though, that is a perfect blend of great music and lyrics, amazing album! I disagree about Dark Eternal Night being bad. It's a fun song about evil things that go bump in the night. It's not a serious song, it's just a heavy song you can bang your head to. I disliked it when I first heard it, but it grew on me. See, I don't need lyrics to enjoy music which is why I love LTE and SA.

  • Lyrics hold a greater meaning than the music itself, composition and lyrics should be put together side by side. Look at Change of Seasons, the composition is great and the lyrics as well, Or Smashing Pumpkins or Iron Maiden, there's a huge emphasis on lyrics and composition. It doesn't need to be psuedo-intellectul but at least better than a 16 minute song about a non-fatal car accident. And even still look at Dark Eternal Night, bad lyrics and bad composition.

  • @DMCMaster550 Composition should always be put ahead of lyrics. It's all about the music, not the pseudo-intellectual "poetry".

  • There's other bands that have lifted some verses or other things from the inspiration to the song. Look at Rime of the Ancient Marine by Iron Maiden. I have to disagree though, there was a time when lyrics were actual a pretty big focus with DT their older stuff up to Six Degrees was all really good, especially tracks like Under a Glass Moon, Trial of Tears, Blind Faith. It wasn't until ToT that they put composition and impossible solos before lyrics. Every now and then they shine though.

  • same here...still gives me the chills

  • actually JP is even faster, like at least 1000000x faster :P

No but seriously, he owns them...while sleeping
