This is a video clip I took of the Sandia Mountains toward sundown on November 20 2007. It was taken from the Elena Gallegos Picnic Grounds which is in the foothills. The Sandia's border right up against the very east side of the city of Albuquerque, New Mexico. It's like having a nature get away literally in your backyard. There are black bear, deer, coyotes, fox....etc. Hell, even mountain lions have recently been spotted. I have seen the black bear.

  • the sandias are awesome,i live in corrales

  • I agree. Since I first moved here from up north I have hiked just about every trail in the Sandias(east side and west side). Walked the entire Crest trail starting from the canyon at I-40 to Placitas camping out along the way. I have always loved Corrales. One of my favorite places close to Albuquerque. I'd live there but always figured it would be too expensive. Kind of like Santa Fe.

  • I actually see the Sandias all the time because I live in NE Albuquerque.

  • we just moved to Abq from NY, and so far the cost of living is comparable. I think Santa Fe is far more expensive that Abq.

  • just moved to NE Albuquerque, and i love seeing these mountains every day!

  • I miss NM, I want to move back.

  • ahhh New Mexico ... I can not wait to get out of Germany to go back!

  • Albuquerque's the best. Great city and great people.

  • Thanks for a great video of the Sandias. They are so beautiful. I used to live in Alb and had to move away for my job. Watching your videos lets me see them again! Thank you!
