My first ever race!
A dream come true opportunity given to me by the owner and regular race driver of this car to co-drive for him in the 1hr GT Productions Sports enduro at Phillip Island, November 2005.
Novermber 2005, Phillip Island Grand Prix circuit.
Race: Island Magic, Production Sports Cars
Car: 2004 Porsche GT3 race car
Ave lap time: 1m44s
Notes:
- Out-qualified the regular race driver of this car
- 260km/h down main straight
- Oil laid down by car during previous race on the racing line entry into turn 1 and exit of turn 2 (therefore kept off racing line in those corners)
- First time driving a 2004 GT3, first time driving a fully feldged race car, first time on slick tyres, first time at Phillip Island, FIRST RACE!
First of all, great job! that was nice driving, and also just out of curiosity where did you finish?

His lines were all over the place. He's not very smooth either. He did get more consistent the last two laps. He also seems rather timid when he gets around traffic. A more aggresive driving style would have put him up in the front sooner, which is important in a sprint type race like that. More seat time would have helped him set up the 29 car sooner. But then again, I'm just a guy watching a youtube video.

One of the simplest layouts but best tracks of the world. Great fast corners, the left left into the finish straight is awesome, I would love to ride on that track.

Thats pretty good for your first race adam,i remember well my first race in a group n (historic) touring car. The red mist took over 3 turns into the race and next thing you know, were going into the fence at 100 miles an hour, i still love to watch the footage, mainly to hear the collective scream from the crowd who realised there was no way this little bastard was going to make it through the corner .
