A robotic female satin bowerbird, a.k.a. Jamie Sommers. Used to study courtship behaviors of male bowerbirds by Gail Patricelli, in collaboration with Gregory Walsh, Gerry Borgia, Al Uy and Seth Coleman at the U of Maryland. Shows the fembot's range of motion and a male courting the fembot (the male mimics a kookaburra and a Lewin's honeyeater during courtship). Experiments were conducted in Wallaby Creek, NSW Australia on a wild bowerbird population. Visit our website for more information: http://www.eve.ucdavis.edu/gpatricelli/
