What? I'm not allowed to mess around on the banjo? This is a modest banjo, tuned to a standard open "G". I just began learning clawhammer not more than a month ago, and this is beginner stuff. Be gentle. Tips from experienced clawhammer folks are welcome (I need 'em)! Anyone else is free to share their thoughts in a respectful manner.

  • @johnnyhoodoo Thanks, man! It's been a while since I've had this much fun with an instrument. Clawhammer feels really natural. Glad you liked it -- thanks for checking it out!

  • Yeah man.Keep messin with the banjo.I got a 4 string un tuned to G and after a while of foolin its startin to sound good. You are sounding good already bro.

  • @manriq47 Hey, thanks Mark! Truth be told, I'm not sure where the heck I'm going with this. All I can say at this point is that it's a lot of fun, and a great way to relax. It sounds like I need to check out that tune!

  • Sounds like a natural blend of interest and talent, Rob. I'm really liking this and can't wait to see where you take it. This might sound a bit crazy, but I can hear you doing a version of Gordon Lightfoot's "Get Out Ol' Dan's Records" on that new ax you're swinging. All the best. ~ Mark
