Inside Wofford Football: Clemson

The Wofford football team was down by one point at the start of the fourth quarter at Clemson on Saturday, however the Tigers pulled away for a 35-27 final score at Memorial Stadium. The Terriers were up 21-13 in the second quarter and were tied at 21 at the half.

The Terriers are 1-1 and Clemson is 2-0 on the season. Wofford was led by Mitch Allen with 89 rushing yards and 127 passing yards and was responsible for two touchdowns. Brenton Bersin had two catches for 127 yards, while Eric Breitenstein had 62 yards and a touchdown. Alvin Scioneaux added two sacks and Mike Niam led the team with 12 tackles. Clemson was led by Andre Ellington with 165 rushing yards and a touchdown.

@MrFrogmore1 not to mention that smaller schools don't have the top coaches and elite strength and conditioning programs, I think alot of small school players are better than bcs but they aren't developed to their fullest or used to their full potential due to coaching. The coaching for Wofford is pretty good though,

I graduated Wofford in 1978. USC and Clemson suposedly have top 20 recruiting classes every year. What does this day about recruiting rankings? There is soemthing to be said about coaching and development. Apparently some just count on raw talent.

All I hear from Carolina fans is that "Yall almost lost to Wofford!". The first thing I tell them is that Wofford is a team that upsets the big guys. Wofford isn't a joke. I had a feeling that it was going to come close. I was really scared they were going to beat us for a minute though. Go Tigers.
