As part of the BAE Systems Families' Day at Rochester Airport, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Lancaster gave a solo display, before heading for Dover where the Louis Bleriot celebrations were being held.

  • Interesting to read that you saw the Lancaster flying over Sudbury at about 14.25. The Lancaster was due to display at Rochester at 15.30, but arrived a little early (15.15 approx.), approaching the airfield from a northwesterly direction and slightly to the west of the airfield. I was impressed with the way the pilot displayed the aircraft, bearing in mind Rochester Airport is not a large airfield!

  • Another great RGN VIDEO

  • I saw her flying fast and low over Newton Green Golf course near Sudbury in Suffolk and wondered where she was going. This was about 14:25 according to my camera I luckily had on me at the time!

I guess she travelled down the coast to Rochester.

  • got some good shots of her flying over my house such a grand old lady
