Gawd I remember that scene at the academy awards. I must have been 12. Believe it or not it was considered bizarre for him to be wearing a tuxedo and looking formal and neat, that's why people were tittering. If he had been dressed as Ziggy it would have been ok. Then when he announced the winner of whatever it was (I'm sure whoever it was is long gone) he took his reading glasses out of his jacket pocket before opening the envelope, resulting in even more tittering. Is there anyone like him?

I know it's a phase but best not to read biographys about private lives. He's never been open about his life so why read half truths and 'stories that are made up'...just enjoy the music!
