Eyal Sherman, 28, of Syracuse is graduating from Syracuse University today. What is extraordinary is Sherman was diagnosed with having a brain-stem tumor at 4-years-old and doctors gave him only days, maybe weeks, to live. He is a ventilator-dependent quadriplegic who's vocal cords are frozen and who receives nourishment through a feeding tube. In order to learn, Sherman's mother, Leah, had to attend school with him and take notes for him. In this video, Eyal's father, Charles Sherman, talks with The Post-Standard's Marnie Eisenstadt about what the family went through and how they've faced the intervening years.
