Could it be possible to convert sunrays falling on the African desert into electricity? Then channel it towards Europe, providing the whole continent with unlimited clean, affordable sustainable energy?

Yes, according to researcher Christoph Richter. 'Solar energy is a realistic option. The sun shines 30% longer in North Africa than in Europe, this place has such potential. Building these power stations in North Africa and the near east will create a type of energy motorway that will power through central Europe. Although centuries of European colonialism has led to African mistrust, Richter states that With technological advances and the right political developments, we could imagine a scenario where renewable energies supply 100% of the world's power. Solar energy is becoming a much more viable option for the future.

  • Sun pyramids/ley lines.

  • Its Time for afrika to evolve in High tech and in civilization..

  • @gjc82071 I dont know about the Green energy development in your country, but Europe is allready placing high tech improved solar panels that are affordable for every household. which means that Europe did invest this in years to make it happen. Within 10 Years Germany wants to shut off all Nuclear Plants and replacing the principle of cleaner Energy.. Its been tested succesfully and affordably.

But youre right about the investiment of the panels in Afrika. Learn to be optimistic buddy :)

  • @TatrIXDK I highly doubt that. 1st, it's not as if the sun shines only on Africa, LOL. Asia, USA, Australia, all have deserts too. 2nd, how much do you think they could actually charge, for what is essentially "free energy"? If they charge too much, countries would just develop their own solar or alternative energy sources. This isn't an insult, but it's obvious that you don't know much about supply/demand, economics, etc.

  • @Zoza15 1 reason you may never see solar energy in wide spread use is because there isn't enough money in it. Say you build a solar energy plant. After the cost of building it has been recouped, how can you justify to customers, charging them exhorbant monthly rates for what is essentially, free energy? Sure you will see some solar plants, & probably wide spread use of panels on homes/businesses, etc, but I don't know about solar power replacing fossil fuels anytime soon. (unfortunately)

  • Wow!, with this idea of energy, we dont need to rely on Russia's Oil supply anymore.. :D

  • Anyone else see a womens hip in a grass skirt at the beginning?

  • and a partnership with German Desertech ECT. Africa would become much richer then USA (soon to be a 3rd world country,) & the rest of the 3rd world combined, just from working together with German DeserTech, Danish Dong & Swedish Enginueity.. (hope u understand what i mean with that word, dunno the right way to spell it) :)

  • @TatrIXDK no we dont got many of those minerals ect. left in the ground. due to the several thousand years of history coming from europe... but that U uself as an european can call yourself + all other europeans the parasites of the world is such a big disgrace..

  • @TatrIXDK I do not who is the one who knows nothing, but I am not American as you eagerly affirm; I live in Switzerland. Leaders or not leaders, the conclusion do not change that Europe is a continent without resources to supply your own population since the 15th century. YOU HAVE BEEN LIVING FROM AFRICA; ASIA; AMERICA;ETC,. Not cooperation but steeling. Your "leadership", could not be possible without a previous plunders. Is AFRICA who have been support you, and minerals from Latin America, and
