  • I suppose you could. I'm not sure how well it would work . The New Finish seems to be what everyone recomended when I started and it works great. If you use walnut media it's not as dusty as the corn.

  • It won't be dusty if you'll use some polishing compound in your media. I use about 2 tablespoons of one part NU Finish car polish and one part mineral spirits. Add more when it starts getting dusty. Makes your brass nice and shiney too.

  • @mitchellcorp If you keep polishing you brass, you'll shoot sooner or later. Just so you can re-polish your bass again....LOL

  • Take a used dryer sheet like "Bounce". Cut it up into about 16 pieces and put it into the tumbler. No dust whatsoever. In a pinch you can use a paper towel or a new dryer sheet, but a used dryer sheet works best because it has an open weave which catches all the dust. I can dump it out into a bucket indoors and get no dust at all!

That's with crushed walnut shells from the pet supply store ($13 for 50 pounds)

  • Can you use turtle wax to polish brass?

  • Tumble outside because one time I did it inside and my computer room was dusty even with lid on.
