One of the finest songs ever written, Jerome Kern's "All the Things You Are" is here recorded in its original form, as it was first heard in the theatre in "Very Warm for May" in 1939. The London Sinfonietta is conducted by John McGlinn, with the Ambrosian Chorus and soloists Rebecca Luker, George Dvorsky, Jeanne Lehmann and Cris Groenendaal. The orchestration is by Robert Russell Bennett. (A Broadway Angel CD).
You are the promised kiss of springtime
That makes the lonely winter seem long.
You are the breathless hush of evening
That trembles on the brink of a lovely song.
You are the angel glow that lights a star,
The dearest things I know are what you are.
Some day my happy arms will hold you,
and some day, I'll know that moment divine,
When all the things you are, are mine!
My favorite version.

Thanks so much for posting this. I've been looking for this forever. I remember hearing this on the Musicals channel on TV one afternoon while I was cleaning my apartment. I stood in the middle of the floor (not going left, not going right) simply awestruck. Just gorgeous.
