Nine-plus inches of new fallen snow ushers in the first day of April on the Red River Valley. Fargo resumes its focus in remaining vigilant in its flood protection, while attempting to help a community regain its normalcy. Meritcare Hospital and local merchants reopen as the community prepares to have schools open on Monday, April 6, 2009. The entire Fargo area is taken from HIGH ALERT to ALERT as the Red River recedes... and plans remain in effect as the community looks for the Red River's second crest later next week.

I don't live anywhere near Fargo, but have been following these AMAZING vids since the beginning of this ordeal. You have shown how tough times require that we stand up and fight....and you have done exactly that. You can finally rest for a while. I'm so glad that the river is receding, and that things are getting back to normal, but all of you will remain in our thoughts and prayers. Hopefully, the 2nd crest will be lower than expected. Hang in there!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE VIDEOS!
