BNSF MILITARY HUMMER TRAIN! (7-24-10) Over 200 pieces of Military equipment!

Well I woke up this morning and seen where a BNSF U-PADBAR (Unit Military train from Paducah, Kentucky - Barstow, California) train was coming eastbound on the BNSF Beardstown Sub today. I went up to Litchfield and boy it was a hot one out there! Set up at 64.71 Columbia Street Litchfield Illinois. BM Sargent and CJ Vinyard were the crew as they waved and looked back at me. Power for this train was: BNSF C44-9W 5442, BNSF C44-9W 4977, and BNSF C44-9W 4727 with various hummers, tank mobiles, first aid hummers, trailers, and more hummers. Was a cool catch!

Where do you find such information about what is coming though and when.  I know that you can listen to the scanner and hear approaching trains, but reading your description it seems you had some advance notice.

Awesome catch BNSF is the best in the west, I've never seen a military train before but they are awesome, the most I ever saw were military baretables but what a site. I've been away in Montauk NY for a week so I'm sorry if I haven't been keeping up with your footage. I may head to Wilsmere yard and catch a few freights but I'm 100% because my flight leaves at 11:30. Thumbs big time bro.

Yupp, this was the 2nd of two of those trains. Huge beasts, but I never got to see them in person due to being at work when both left. Glad you caught one of the best trains that has run on this line!
