Want to make a stopmotion with an SLR but need to rotoscope or lip sync? For about $20 you can do just that WITH ANY SLR CAMERA!

NEED:

Logitech QuickCam Delux: http://bit.ly/dNwJzx

For the eye piece, go on eBay, search "Eye Cup Nikon". Get a circular eye piece, don't spend more than $6 because they might be "too good" and you won't be able to take it apart! I noticed there are a few on ebay that do not have the metal piece to attach to the camera, so watch out! http://bit.ly/gk1FiI

  • wow this is clever.. i used to put my webcam on top of the slr camera but I'm totally gonna start doing this, thanks for the tip

  • @Andrestopmo It works a lot better with a high res camera, but the concept works fantastically if you need to line up angles AND rotoscope using limited resources. Most people have a good webcam around.

  • do you rate istopmotion over dragon then? once the live view issue is resolved?

  • @johndavideanimation Update-- I currently own both, and I've had SO many issues with Dragonframe. Honestly, iStopMotion is so much better at keeping files from going corrupt or losing files. Best option though is to simply stay away from any program at all, capture it in camera, and import it into Photoshop in my honest opinion.
