Crews installed two million pounds of concrete girders for future lidded overpasses on SR 520 the weekend of Jan. 13 to 16. Work occurred at 92nd Avenue Northeast and Evergreen Point Road. The SR 520 Eastside Transit and HOV Project widens SR 520 from four to six lanes from Medina to Bellevue and includes rebuilding interchanges, installing fish-friendly culverts, and building highway lids and transit stops in the center of the highway. WSDOT awarded the $306 million design-build contract to Eastside Corridor Constructors (ECC), a joint venture of Granite Construction Company and PCL Construction Services.
