The Gazette is... Montreal (for now)

http://www.readersmatter.org/ Canwest, the company that owns The Montreal Gazette, wants to outsource the production of the paper outside Quebec as part of its ongoing efforts across Canada to centralize the work performed for its local newspapers. But many readers want to keep Montreal in The Montreal Gazette. The company wants to be able to move the layout (and perhaps the editing and writing) of the newspaper to non-union shops in Hamilton, Ont. and Winnipeg. A local paper should be produced by local, qualified professionals. Montrealers want The Gazette's profits invested in making the newspaper better.
