hay xlenc! please visti h t t p : / / wet.atari.org/obsession/
I made fanpage :) and I am collecting hiscores. few years ago Peter Zetterberg send me email asking me if someone from UDS make that fanpage :)
btw you did BRILLIANT code! Obsession is one of best game for Atari: super smooth, lot of color, removed border... very, very impressive! do you still write code?
-
I remember writing the code for this game. 2 1/2 years and 150,000 lines of assembly code.
-
@bobbystar101 STE, not ST. And this still doesn't push even the lamest Amiga setup half as far as it can go.
-
Cool, I had Obsession on my 4mb STE, it was great! But it was imo about the only game reaching Amiga level quality. That and Super Stario Land. hehe.
-
@karadok666 If you have the unreleased falcon enhanced version of this then why not upload it on atari-forum?
-
Salivate? Have you heard what the amiga is capable of? Have you heard modern electronic music? You still stuck in the early 90's or something?
-
@porcorosso81 Also what I meant really is that Amiga users should listen and weep considering how much more they payed and the fact that; oh look, something just as good can be done on an st.
That in mind your entire escapade has been rather pointless.
BTW you won't find me posting on an Amiga vid about how the ST version is better since I am not that sad like you to go round looking to start an argument.
Stop making me de-construct your petty quibbling and go away finally.
-
@porcorosso81 My problem is that you search actively for videos to argue on. That comment was in a light hearted manner. How is it better than the amiga version? Exactly because of tricks like more than 16 colours etc. How many Amiga games stretch the limits like that? Or check out silky smooth scrolling on an stfm with enchanted lands. That would be like doom on a stock a500. BTW I have remained constantly civilised trust me. Foul language? I only said dickhead..
That's the only word that fits.
-
All ST games have less colour and extremely jerky scrolling. Yet, you always read "better than the Amiga". Yeah, sure, 16fps is puts way less strain on my eyes than silky smooth 50fps scrolling...
So when I comment on videos like this here, it's not primarily against the ST, which has its benefits if you consider certain aspects. It's against the fanboy idiots.
And yes, I'd LOVE to see you commenting on an Amiga video how superior the ST version is.
-
In the end, you are like any other fanboy. Foulmouthed, full of anger, and ZERO knowledge. I have a very differentiated opinion, and even comment against the Amiga, when something actually IS better than the Amiga. You ST guys, however, always argue against reality. The ST has some of the worst music of any 16 bit computer. If it's actual YM music, you guys claim: "that's more retro and cult than the Amiga". But when you hear a 4 bit, 4 channel digi mixing routine, you salivate all over it.
It came in the Black box. Now the UltraSatan is the hottest thing. I've ordered one. Try google it for more info.

Where did you buy yours from? Did you pre-order via an atari forum or did you buy it from a french guy on ebay?

I bought it from a swedish guy that I have contact with on a retroforum. But now it's sold and I've ordered a UltraSatan instead!

Was the STE better in most ways than the Amiga back then? Cos the STFM was known for not being quite as good.

To be honest, I guess the Amiga was quite better, but the STE was almost as good as the Amiga. The STE had more colors and better sound etc. then the STFM.

I think I had some songs from the game, but I don't find them anymore. Per Almered has made the music, try searching Excellence in Art too!
