  • i want to install a interlock kit for a back up genorator with a 30amp breaker how does the power get to feed the other side of the panel can you please explain this to me,

  • @880973ful That is tricky, I would get an electricion to do it, or at least advise.

  • i believe that you are GTG with #2 copper SER, but i think you will need a seperate ground bus in any subpanel they must remain seperate from the neutral bus (not an electrician but i slept at a holiday inn express last night) so you might want to check in on that

  • @gaggotgaggot Thanks

  • YOU WILL NEVER TIGH TOGETHER A NEUTRAL AND GROUND WIRE IN A SUBPANEL. NEITHER A MAIN BREAKER IS REQUIRE FOR A SUB PANEL IN THE SAME BUILDING. WHY DIDN'T YOU GET A HOME LINE SQUARE D? THREE TIMES CHEAPER. ARE YOU AND ELECTRICIAN?

  • How to you connect/wire this new sub-panel to the main breaker box?

  • As everyone is trying to say, run isolated neutral and ground buses.

  • 4 number 2 awg? Why would you have 4? 2 hots and one neutral and one ground (not a no. 2) also 120volt not 110 volt. 240v not 220v. You have some weird voltage where you're at? Also neutrals and grounds don't connect together in sub panel. You just removed the bonding jumper but then you are combining neutrals and grounds so why remove the jumper then?

  • That's great. You aren't allowed by code to combine neutral and ground in any box other than your main breaker panel. But other than that it looks pretty good.

  • love the video

  • Did you fire caulk the hole you drilled in the top plate?

  • how much current can i safly draw through 6AWG wire ?
