The group were a husband and wife folk duo, Graham (vocals, guitars) and Anne Hemingway (vocals, dulcimer, glockenspiel, vibes, percussion). Apparently, the group's name was taken from the Ernest Hemingway's famous book. Influenced by the Incredible String Band with arrangements by Anne. Originally released on the self titled album in October 1970 (Village Thing, VTS 2) they received critical acclaim by the Music Press but as is often the case this did not reflect album sales. There's some quite bewitching lyrics in here so don't be fooled by those haunting melodies. Definitely one to seek out.
