Eric Alterman, columnist for The Nation and English and Journalism professor at Brooklyn College and CUNY Graduate School, argues that President Obama has been unable to deliver on many of his 2008 campaign pledges. It was cut off too soon! But I really related to him in that the Republicans did everything they could to shut him up, and they have tried to do that to me in our community. I wrote an opinion column for our local rag and hard ass conservatives complained and threatened to stop subscribing if I continued. So the publisher has said I can't write them anymore.
