wget is the best option.
A browser is sufficient as most modern browsers support ftp; unless you are still on dial-up - in which case a download manager can sometimes be helpful. There is no need to install an FTP client just to download a distro. If you really need ftp, you should be using sftp/scp instead.

What a joke. That was windows instalsheild that installed that programme for him. Linux is totally different. This video is 'learn linux' and he is showing us on windows??? I'm not going to bother watching the next 34 videos, thats for sure!!
