Follow the step-by-step guide with TFF Editor Steve Cullen and tie The Waterhen Buzzer.

At this time of year you're sure to get some sort of buzzer activity on most stillwaters. There are many patterns that copy the various stages of this little creature's life but this is a favourite when the trout are a little higher in the water. Try this fly on the top dropper with a team of three, keep it in the top two or three feet of the water and it'll perform really well.

The soft hackle at the front gives it a lifelike quality, the translucent body is just like the real thing and the little orange thorax is in there to emulate the wing buds of the natural and it's also a great trigger point.
