http://www.ted.com The thesaurus might equate "disabled" with synonyms like "useless" and "mutilated," but ground-breaking runner Aimee Mullins is out to redefine the word. Defying these associations, she hows how adversity -- in her case, being born without shinbones -- actually opens the door for human potential.

TEDTalks is a daily video podcast of the best talks and performances from the TED Conference, where the world's leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes. Featured speakers have included Al Gore on climate change, Philippe Starck on design, Jill Bolte Taylor on observing her own stroke, Nicholas Negroponte on One Laptop per Child, Jane Goodall on chimpanzees, Bill Gates on malaria and mosquitoes, Pattie Maes on the "Sixth Sense" wearable tech, and "Lost" producer JJ Abrams on the allure of mystery. TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design, and TEDTalks cover these topics as well as science, business, development and the arts. Closed captions and translated subtitles in a variety of languages are now available on TED.com, at http://www.ted.com/translate. Amazing woman. Yes, language is very powerful. It is time we start choosing our words more wisely. Do we want to uplift or destroy hope? Way to go Aimee. You are truly an inspiration!

The human spirit can endure in sickness, but a crushed spirit who can bear?

That was awesome. "When God answers from the depths of His great love, it makes some of us feel like the wallflower who is asked to dance." Angela Thomas - I accept!

Tracking is the worst thing to do in school. Teachers don't even bother teaching the lower tracks and they enthusiastically teach the upper tracks. The rich get richer essentially.
