The Evergreen Idol 2011 contest was great fun! There was a ton of great competition from other great singers. Did you know that 25,000 people competed in the 2011 Evergreen Idol competition!?!?

Background: Evergreen Idol has been running for over 10 years -- longer than American Idol! This year, contestants for Evergreen Idol first qualified at a weekly qualifying round at local karaoke hot spots; then went back to that venue to compete in a final or semi-final/then final round. Each karaoke hot spot sent two finalists to the semi-finals rounds at the Evergreen State Fair Evergreen Idol rounds. 15 finalists were chosen from the 38 Evergreen Idol semi-finalists to sing two songs on the finals night. Two grueling rounds of singing were completed with the Sabrina Keys winning first place and Kate Wirth winning 2nd place in the 2011 Evergreen Idol karaoke contest. Kate will be back next year!!!
