Hi, I'm Whitney Lauritsen, and welcome to another episode of Ecorazzi's Good Gossip, where you can get the scoop without feeling guilty.
Ryan Gosling joins a list of sexy celebrities doing good for the planet. He recently wrote the USDA asking the government to put an end to the inhumane killing of chickens who are commonly suffocated to death in slaughterhouses before ending up on plates like... his own. Yeah, he's not a vegetarian, but at least he cares how animals are killed before he eats them.
Fortunately, a few animal lives were spared this week when celebrity chef Jamie Oliver cooked a free vegan meal for the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society who just returned from saving some whale lives in the southern ocean.
It's just too bad they couldn't save any dolphins in Taiji where the glorious hunting season has begun. So much for Kelly Slater's attempt to protect them.
But there's still hope, thanks to vegetarian pop star Ke$ha, who is teaming up with PETA to speak out against Canadian seal hunt. She's also promoting a petition to ban cosmetics tested on animals so she won't have to feel so guilty while caking on make-up for her next music video.
Leonardo DiCaprio is once again in the news for renting a green home while filming "The Great Gatsby" in Australia. The house is practically carbon neutral because it's almost entirely solar powered.
Now we know why he couldn't afford to buy girlfriend Blake Lively a Prius. But he's not expected to stay in the house much longer because us journalist have exposed way too many details and thus ruined his privacy. Sorry, Leo.
Word to the wise: don't make a mixed drink and call it "natural" when it's not. Otherwise you might get sued for false advertising and tricking people into thinking that they'll get skinny when they drink a lot. Just like Bethenny Frankel from the "Real Housewives of New York City".
I saved the best news for last! You can now bid to win your very own pair of "Back to the Future" Nike hightop shoes that lace up automatically and everything just like in the movie! What's that? Correction: they do not lace up automatically, they're just a boring, ugly pair of shoes from the 90s. I'm sorry, "2015". But at least the proceeds go to the Michael J. Fox's Parkinson's Disease Foundation.
That's all I have for you today, but you can tune in here on Youtube every Wednesday for the latest episode of Ecorazzi's Good Gossip.
