This is Grandmaster Melle Mel & The Furious Five with Kurtis Blow playing at the Arches in Glasgow as the last date of their 2009 European tour.
The lineup here is: Grandmaster Melle Mel, Kidd Creole, Scorpio (aka Mr. Ness), Dynamite and Kurtis Blow with DJ C-Styles.
This is them playing the classic "White Lines (Don't Do It)".
The song on release was creditted to 'Grandmaster + Melle Mel', but in reality it was Melle Mel and a bit of cynical labelling by the record label to confuse people into thinking Grandmaster Flash was involved on it, which is today still a common misconception (as Grandmaster Flash had nothing to do with it - in fact, Flash sued Sugarhill Records over the whole thing).
The Furious 5 coined the term "hip hop", Melle Mel was the first guy to call himself an "MC" and the first rap artist to win a Record Of The Year Grammy, and Grandmaster Flash & The Furious 5 were the first rap group to be inducted into the Rock'n'Roll Hall Of Fame. Total pioneers!
This video was recorded on a Sony Ericsson C905 mobile phone.
