moved to 13 gauge Martin SP strings. Begins to sound like its too much for the body to handle. To really get the sound out of the strings you have to play louder but that sound overburdens the small body of the guitar. although playing a more mellow thumb and fingerstyle fattens the tone. i'm still deciding whether what is more important clarity/projection over tone/overprojection.

    a year later but...hope you are still playing!! just want to ask you what Dtar you got, wavelength or multi source? nice feel...go for that and don't focus too much on technical stuff :) I heared samples on this Dtar's site but was dissapointed with a ringing in the background, feedbcak interferance?!...what's your experience?
