JOB TIME: 3.5 HRS. Here i demonstrate heater core replacement on a 1999 dodge ram 2500 turbo diesel. This same process works for the 1998-2002 1500, 2500, 3500 dodge ram full size trucks.
Does anybody know what part on the dash is called that holds the ashtray? The mounts on the inside that hold the ashtray broke on one side and now it falls out and wont stay in.
you need to show how to move the heater box from the fire wall because removing the two bolts on the bracket don't allow the heater box to come away. Also when you come back in the cab you say there is a bolt on the right side that you remove, your camera doesn't show at all where that is.....
Thanks for the video...couldn't have done the job without it!
Managed to do mine in 4 hours and I DIDN'T have to pull the box out from the firewall...the metal pipes that went through the firewall had pivoting connections to the core so it was a
simple matter of lining them up and slowly rotating them while lowering the core into place.
Don't know the brand name of the new core but got it at Sanel Auto Parts here in NH.
wow man, this video is awesome. tonight i pulled the dash out and got the hose clamps free with your help, tomorrow morning with the sunlight, i'll replace the heater core.
Whata bunch a crap my 78 bronco i just pull out the heater box , my 60 bird same deal i didn't have GUT the whole interior to fix either. corperate bs.i need to make a airplane out od old dodge heater cores and plastic dash material and fly it into the mopars main office.
Great video, but I would reccomend removing the A-pillar trim to avoid the cracked dash syndrome that I got!
