Yes Mr Hard while there is minimal flexion (which is debatable) you are performing alot of Hip flexion and theres a lil guy called the psoas that inserts into your spine thats causeing alot of compression- you really dont need to be moving to effecitivly train the abdominals considering there job is to facilitate stability (Read Stewart McGill's Ultimate Back Performance)

Been to 2 of McGill,s seminars and own the book. Compression on the spine is minimal when it is not in flexion.

can i see a picture of your abs? i wonder if this is just damaging you back rather than working your abs

Hi, not sure why you want to see my abs. You need to try this common double kettlebell movement. There is no spinal flexion or load to the spine. The arms remain extended throughout, forcing the abdominals to work extremely hard to get off the floor. You can also perform the eccentric part of the movement very slow, 5 seconds to return to the flooe.
