I would have just draped the fabric over her aureola area and crotch so that kids could view it too without those black boxes.

I always heard you shouldn't use the smudge tool to blend stuff, cause it just gets the colors all over the place and you can't achieve a result as good as blending with brushes.Is it still a good idea to use the smudge tool to blend?

@Talexior I think only the result is important ;-) I try different ways to paint and I choose the best for me.

Can anyone explain to me why she tell us to paint on a locked layer? She says to lock the layer named 'Skin' and to paint the shadows on this layer. Unless she locked it a certain way my photoshop(CS5) wont allow me to paint on a locked layer; I have to create a new layer in order to paint the shades. Was there an error in her instructions?
