The Munich air disaster took place on 6 February 1958, when British European Airways Flight 609 crashed on its third attempt to take off from a slush-covered runway at Munich-Riem Airport in Munich, West Germany. On board the plane was the Manchester United football team, nicknamed the "Busby Babes", along with a number of supporters and journalists. 20 of the 44 people on board the aircraft died in the crash. The injured, some of whom had been knocked unconscious, were taken to the Rechts der Isar Hospital in Munich where 3 more died, resulting in 21 survivors.

The Hillsborough Disaster was a human crush that occurred on 15 April 1989 at Hillsborough, a football stadium, the home of Sheffield Wednesday F.C. in Sheffield, England, resulting in the deaths of 96 people[1], all fans of Liverpool F.C. It remains the deadliest stadium-related disaster in British history and one of the worst in international football.[2] It was the second of two stadium-related disasters involving Liverpool supporters, the other being the Heysel Stadium Disaster in 1985.

The match was an FA Cup semi-final clash between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest. It was abandoned six minutes into the game.

The inquiry into the disaster, the Taylor Report, named the cause as failure of police control, and resulted in the conversion of many football stadiums in the United Kingdom to all-seater and the removal of barriers at the front of stands.

  • dis video gives me chillz !

  • @fredtheredmanu i agree m8 it is only a game and hopefully it ends from next saturdays game. lets sing about the game rivalry instead

  • @alslevie1986 i think most of united fans today esp the younger ones were not around when Bill died, and the one that where have grown up since and have kids that hopefully learn that such songs should be taken out of the games and help us to have better understanding of the rivalry and not the tradgedies of both clubs

  • You have to explain that to Man United fans who sang who's that dying on the carpet when Bill Shankly died.
