So if I make a character that has short blond hair, red hat and red scarf, I've just plagiarized Ocelot? :/ Calling plagiarism on TAPPY is like saying all the renaissance artists stole from each other by using the triangle composition.
Also. What if the track was a homage to the Russian composer, simply because TAPPY liked his music? That's not really plagiarism, per se.
Why are you all in fucken denial, writing similar notes is a big possibility, it's not a bad thing, it just happens. Not like the song is EXACLY the same.
Whether or not the song really was a rip off, those who owned the rights to the Russian song were giving Konami legal problems. No matter what you want to believe, the fact of the matter is that Konami decided to remove the song from the series because the Russian composers probably had enough evidence for plagiarism, due to the similarity of the songs, if the controversy went to court.
It sounds like MGS theme at the start abit, and lacks alot of notes the actual MGS theme has. Even if the creator of MGS theme has based the start on this, he only made it better.
As most musicians know its very easy to be influenced by things you have heard or liked in the past. Most of the time bits and pieces do make it in the final cut and unknowingly sound very similar to that of maybe a song you liked as child or only heard briefly but stuck with you in the back of your mind. I'm sure thats all this is. Though the two songs do sound similar I don't think it's enough to be considered plagiarism or maybe i'm wrong and Harry Gregson-Williams is just a rip off artist.
