So what if the surge works? Is this going to be bad politically for Democrats?

isn't this a little more complicted than just a "surge"? the problem in iraq can't be solved by a simple influx of troops. there are bigger issues at play than just life on the ground -- age-old religious strife, super power greediness over resources, and new spheres of influence in the area... that's not something more feet can solve. or is it more simple than that?

kyra phillips right-wing bias is well documented. she's a piss-poor example of a journalist but a prime example of how cnn's spin to the right is killing its credibility.

phillips is more entertaining when she leaves her mic on in the bathroom so cnn can air her trashing members of her family.

anchors like kyra sludgewick who sign on to the conservative spin aren't nearly as influential as they'd like to believe. All anchors want to do is double park their hummer h3's while they run into starbucks for a triple machiatto.. and then triple park it again for as long as it takes to get in, anchor a newscast and get out.

Well.. look at the polls. NOW, a majority of Americans want to get our troops OUT of the meat grinder iraq. but cnn's swing to the right is creeping even rightier then before.

They may absorb the overall mood of the media, such as when Faux Noise bullied people with their empty gesture American flags. That mood was perpetuated when the consultants told news directors to NOT cover protests against the war.

The media won't be able to spin the GOP out of this one. Too many people simply don't trust them. They need to replace the bootlickers like above before they can start regaining credibility.
