Outcasts: eta had no part in the rising affluence. They lived along the streets or in hamlets: buraku. After the war the Buraku Liberation League was formed. Eta were also found amongst bookmakers of bicycle races. Camera: Michael Rogge.

  • Dank voor uw commentaar. Ik was terug in Japan in 1989 en vond het totaal veranderd. Ja, de recessie heeft daar weer heel wat armoede veroorzaakt.

  • Met al uw (unieke want persoonlijke) fragmenten gaan veel kijkers en historici nog heel blij zijn ;) I was also in Japan/HK, 2007 - looks like we both stood on the bottom of Tokyo Tower. Unfortunately, in places like Kamagasaki the situation of Japan's underclass hasn't changed all that much.
