  • I didn't even know that was the horn at first, I thought it was whailing from the traction motor. That horn is still 5x better than the typical overblowing P5 or crap newcast P3 on NS. Awesome SD70MAC trio, especially the BN leader. I think I saw 9752 on an ethanol train the other day, I have to look at the number again.

  • I was sitting down when i heard the gates go down. I didnt even hear the horn when it was coming, lol. Ya I agree but the P5s on most of the IC SD70s sound great. Cool we saw the same power!

  • That horn did suck, If you want to hear a loud horn watch my new video (BNSF loaded coal south of Lamar, MO.

  • Ya it did suck, Ill check it out!

  • Bad horn, baaad horn!! Great video though!!

  • Thanks!

  • Hey look, a vomit bonnet AND a vomit horn!

Okay, I know that's not actually a vomit bonnet, but it's the same colors, so close enough.

  • That actualy is not a horn it is a Dying Gohfer

  • hahahaha i completely agree, i thought the same thing

  • This is a example of what happens to just about every single K3HA thats on the BN SD70MACs, Diaphrams have cracks or busted big ass holes right in the middle of them, causing them to sounds for a quick second like this example, beginning of each blow the horn is tuned, more pressure makes the diaphram pieces inside the trumpet bounce around causing the effect it does. :)

  • and it think i saw that unit a few weeks ago

  • it was in tune with its own prime mover

  • OK, so who else thought for a second that the guitar was the sick horn advertised in the title? ;-)

  • It now has a RS3K.

  • It's rare, but a good P3 or P5 can be heard on NS, it's generally the 3rd generation P5's on the few Dash-9's that have them which sound great. A clean P5, especially the older generation, is an awesome horn, though Leslie RS-5T is my favorite.
