Love this song! I'm proud to say that the originator of this song is actually a 'Trini': calypsonian Lord Kitchener first recorded this in 1932. I'm very proud to be a Trini (from Trinidad & Tobago)- we showed England what Carnival is REALLY about!

those lyrics have stayed with me from the day i left uk,new years eve 74,but this is england on a winters afternoon,there is no sun, just a pale untidy moon.the way i remember it, a nice way.



The best bit from the song is the melancholy bit about winter in England!
